I was a competitive swimmer on Wave aquatics for 6 years and then discontinued club swimming to join my high school swimming team and later became my swim team’s captain. I began swim instructing in 2023 and have been instructing since. I normally work with children ages 4-12, however, i have worked with kids as young as 9 months to as old as 50 years old.

My favorite swim memory was going to championships in 4th grade and getting to swim at KCAC in their olympic sized pool. My favorite stroke is backstroke and that is also the stroke i am best at. I have been most successful in swimming 100 back.

I love teaching at SwimQwik because of its supportive environment and focus on individualized instruction. The smaller pool sizes create a comfortable setting where swimmers can learn with fewer distractions and receive more personalized attention. This helps build confidence and refine technique more effectively. Being part of a team that prioritizes both safety and fun makes teaching here especially rewarding.

A great swim instructor prioritizes safety, confidence, and technique while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. My approach focuses on building strong foundational skills through personalized instruction tailored to each swimmer’s ability level. I emphasize proper breathing, body positioning, and stroke mechanics while ensuring lessons are engaging and enjoyable. Patience and positive reinforcement are key, helping swimmers overcome fears and develop a lifelong love for the water. Whether working with beginners or those looking to refine their technique, I create a structured yet adaptable lesson plan that fosters progress at a comfortable pace. My goal is to help every swimmer feel confident, safe, and capable in the water.
