I've taken swim lessons sense I was 3 years old. I've competed on and off competitively on swim teams sense I was 7. Currently I am on my high school team. I've babysat for five years and tutored throughout high school. I hope to combine my experience with swim and childcare/instruction to be a good instructor.

Favorite Swim Memory: Either metros or late night high school swim practices

Favorite Stroke: Freestyle but I also love backstroke.

I am so excited to teach one on one and be able to give personalized feedback to each student. I think this helps each person improve and learn the best. I also like that long-lasting costumer relations are very important to the company!

I think it is best to meet each student individually at their level. With young kids I try to make it as fun as possible so that they can really fall in love with swimming. While I want to make it fun, safety is the most important thing, and I will make sure to reemphasize that to each child. I will work with each child to master the next skill they need, using diverse methods depending on the child's learning style. While some children follow directions after they are explained some respond better to demonstration or slowly walking them through each step. It's also important for me to understand each student's comfort level, some may be more tentative and take a little more encouragement. Others are a little too comfortable and need to be watched a little more closely to make sure they don't attempt anything they are not ready for yet.
