I bring years of hands-on experience teaching swimmers of all ages, from infants as young as three months to adults. With a strong background in both swim instruction and water safety, I understand how to support each learner’s unique needs, whether it’s their very first lesson or they’re refining their technique.

I’m certified in CPR, First Aid, AED, and marine water safety. These qualifications ensure that every lesson is rooted in safety and preparedness, whether we’re in a pool or near open water, your well being is always my top priority.

My teaching style is friendly, positive, and personalized. I focus on building trust and helping swimmers feel confident and excited to learn. From playful activities with babies, to stroke development with older kids and adults, I tailor each lesson to support growth in both skill and confidence.

If you’re looking for lessons that are safe, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable, I’d be honored to be part of your or your child’s swim journey. I especially love working with new or nervous swimmers helping them feel empowered and excited every time they get in the water.

For ten years, I dedicated myself to competitive swimming, beginning in Oregon with the Corvallis Aquatic Team, where I developed strong fundamentals and a deep passion for the sport. Training daily and competing regularly taught me discipline, resilience, and how to push through physical and mental limits. After moving to Washington, I joined the Issaquah Swim Team, where I continued to grow as an athlete and teammate. I've taught private lessons for 2 years.

My favorite memory was when I made districts and got to compete with my teammates

    My favorite stroke is butterfly.

I love getting to teach little kids and watch them grow into competent young swimmers. They also have so much energy that makes everything fun and exciting. Swimqwik has an amazing community that helps shape young swimmers into strong swimmers.

My teaching approach focus on techniques, but i understand the attention span of younger kids and accommodate to that. I also consider what the parent wants to get out of the swim class. I like to keep things fun and focused. Although I am not usually strict, I can be when needed to help keep things on track. Otherwise I aim to create a fun atmosphere to engage young kids.

I love how SwimQwik creates strong one-on-one connections that empower swimmers to grow and feel confident. The individualized feedback helps each swimmer progress in a way that’s right for them.

My teaching approach is I meet each swimmer where they are, focusing on how they learn best. By combining fun with technical work, I aim to spark a love for the water while building a solid foundation. I emphasize body position, connection, catch, and breathing to help swimmers feel strong and capable in the pool.

My background includes working as a youth swim instructor and teaching in elementary settings. My favorite swim memory was getting to know so many new people in my classes or teams.

    My favorite stroke is freestyle.

My teaching approach is very hands on and using positive reinforcement. I know I learned the best from coaches who were able to show me as well as physically help me with what I was learning helped me excel at my sports. I also loved having positive reinforcement I think that the best coaches are able to tell you what you are doing wrong in a positive way and help you grow from that.

I have been a swim instructor for 10 years now. All I know is swimming! I learned to swim at a young age, following a near drowning incident, by attending weekly swim lessons at Kent-Meridian pool. At the age of 15, I joined the high school swim team and became a swim instructor in the same year. Using my instructors as inspiration, I incorporated some of their teaching techniques into my own classes.

I work with swimmers of all ages and have a rigorous teaching style. I find that it lays out clear expectations and accelerates learning. Each class is structured to create a strong foundation so that advanced techniques can be added on, as the skill is mastered. Students are rewarded at the end of each lesson if they stay focused, follow instructions, and try to their very best ability.

I specialize in infant and toddler survival swim classes. Survival classes teach students how to recover if they suddenly find themselves in a body of water. Students learn specific life-saving techniques to calm themselves in stressful situations until help arrives. Water is deceiving and dangerous which is why water safety is a vital life skill.

I enjoy teaching and love to watch my younger students progression from tears to no fears in and around water.

    Fun facts about me:

    • Graduated Kent-Meridian HS in 2017
    • Enlisted in the Navy but was discharged after 5 months due to injury
    • I have a bengal cat named Boo who likes to go on walks and play fetch
    • I refinish old furniture to give it a new life
    • I love cars and modify my 1992 Mazda Miata for drifting and racing
  • Mehek Mathur

I was a competitive swimmer on Wave aquatics for 6 years and then discontinued club swimming to join my high school swimming team and later became my swim team’s captain. I began swim instructing in 2023 and have been instructing since. I normally work with children ages 4-12, however, i have worked with kids as young as 9 months to as old as 50 years old.

My favorite swim memory was going to championships in 4th grade and getting to swim at KCAC in their olympic sized pool. My favorite stroke is backstroke and that is also the stroke i am best at. I have been most successful in swimming 100 back.

I love teaching at SwimQwik because of its supportive environment and focus on individualized instruction. The smaller pool sizes create a comfortable setting where swimmers can learn with fewer distractions and receive more personalized attention. This helps build confidence and refine technique more effectively. Being part of a team that prioritizes both safety and fun makes teaching here especially rewarding.

A great swim instructor prioritizes safety, confidence, and technique while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. My approach focuses on building strong foundational skills through personalized instruction tailored to each swimmer’s ability level. I emphasize proper breathing, body positioning, and stroke mechanics while ensuring lessons are engaging and enjoyable. Patience and positive reinforcement are key, helping swimmers overcome fears and develop a lifelong love for the water. Whether working with beginners or those looking to refine their technique, I create a structured yet adaptable lesson plan that fosters progress at a comfortable pace. My goal is to help every swimmer feel confident, safe, and capable in the water.
